Dr. Shepherd is an OB/GYN and women's health expert and also the founder of Her Viewpoint, an online women's health forum that focuses on addressing taboo topics in a comfortable setting.  As an OB/GYN, she practices at the University of Illinois at Chicago and also serves as the Director of Minimally Invasive Gynecology.  Dr. Shepherd has written in various journals including Women's Day, Women's Health, Self, Family Circle, Parents, LifeScript.com, Heart and Soul, Best Health, Essence, and WebMD. 

She is also seen regularly as an expert on The Today Show,  Dr. Oz, Steve Harvey, CBS News, FOX news (NY, LA Chicago and Dallas), WGN News and WCIU in Chicago where she is a monthly health contributor as well as guest co host.  In addition to radio programs nationwide, Dr. Shepherd also gives lectures nationally and internationally on fibroids and myomectomies and women's health issues.

As a gynecologist, Dr. Jessica Shepherd has talked with women about their health issues over the last ten years and now has created a community for women to talk about them.  She founded Her Viewpoint as a result of her daily observations and interactions with her patients.  Her Viewpoint is a forum for women, designed to discuss all those details that encompass your entire health- mentally, emotionally and physically. Dr. Shepherd has taken the approach to patient care by having a conversation with women and allowing the taboo topics to come out! 

 

As an health care expert, she strives to educate women on their bodies and how to address uncomfortable topics and issues.  She is a national speaker for Poise, Sweet Spot for Skin Fix, Change The Cycle and Allergen to address women's health issues.  She also collaborates with bloggers to spread the work and discuss health topics with their followers.  Her involvement with various foundations as a board member has allowed her to actively make decisions in the women's health realm.  She serves on the board of the Multicultural Leadership Committee of the American Heart Association and also the Women's Health Foundation and uses her expertise to help women understand their health conditions and how to address them appropriately.

From her patients, she has come to realize that women’s health issues are not discussed enough and that there is a need have conversations on these matters that affect us.  Women’s health spans physical, emotional and spiritual positions and she will attempt to address as many of these topics as she can with Her Viewpoint. 

Her Viewpoint has resources that are devoted to promoting women’s health for all ages.  Video blogs, interviews and patient forums allow for an interactive site and create an environment for women to share their concerns and questions.  The site provides links to related news, educational opportunities, and national organizations as well as information about books and contacts for health information.
